If they are holiday snaps taken in a different time zone, remember to change the date in each file to make searching more accurate.Īlbums: Albums can be created inside the general media area to hold specific groups of images. This is very handy if you need quick access to files that were shot at specific times. Curiously, this feature has been made unavailable to all previous versions of Elements.Įvents: Use this feature to group your images based on the date. This is a nice feature for anyone embarking on a road trip or perhaps researching travel. Images appear on a Google map according to the coordinates taken from the file's metadata.

Places: This is an internet-reliant viewing mode that's geared toward photographers whose cameras are GPS enabled. This is a very clever feature that seems to work well. People: If you decide to analyze your image database, Elements can file your images based on the people it identifies in each image. (You can also import files using the File | Get Photos and Videos drop-down menu.) Choose from Import from Files and Folders, Camera or Card Reader, Scanner, or Bulk. Use this to import images into the Photoshop Elements database (called the Catalog). The big button in the top-left corner of the Organizer window is pretty much where it all starts. You can also use it to search for further inspiration online or simply to start the Organizer, Editor, or Video Editor. It provides creative inspiration by offering brief examples of slideshows, Pattern Brush, Painterly, B&W Selection, Depth of Focus effects, collages, special text effects, and more using your images rather than random stock shots. This window is essentially what used to be called the eLive screen-it's what you first see when Elements opens.
